Surabhi Kaushik

Meet An Extraordinary Woman - Surabhi Kaushik

After Surabhi and I met by chance, as fans of Author Alka Joshi, I wanted to share Surabhi’s story with my listeners!

Words have always been Surabhi Kaushik's best friends, allowing her to find comfort and joy in playing the role of a copywriter, storyteller, poet or essayist, not necessarily in that order. She enjoys volunteering her time in engaging, building, supporting and nourishing the writing community through her writing workshops.

One of those workshops is Writers Beyond Borders - a virtual program hosted by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library. The online workshop meet the third Wednesday of every month. Register for the FREE program here. She volunteers for Write Like You Mean It , a writing group she initiated at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library and conducts writing workshops in other Charlotte, NC libraries. She is also a trained Carnatic music vocalist. In November 2020, Surabhi was awarded the North Carolina Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service.

Surabhi, a professional writer, lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and son after moving to the US in 2015 from Mumbai, India. Surabhi worked in Mumbai and Kochi, India’s advertising world. Some of her writing may be found on India Currents. Her work has been published in several magazines and on websites in India and the US. Check out her writing talent on her blog Writers Mind.Surabhi
